The Birman is a beautiful semi long haired cat with colour point markings restricted to the ears, face legs and tail. They are medium sized with an elongated stocky body. The legs are short and powerful. They are quiet in voice and angelic in expression. Their eyes are like pools of blue saphires and their coat is soft and silken to the touch and requires no more than a weekly grooming.
In temperament they are a delightful blend between the energetic short haired breeds and the quieter long haired breeds.
A loving, intelligent and consistently friendly cat, the Birman settles comfortably into the family home with children or other pets.
Legend has it that the Birman was a Temple cat living amongst the monks in the highlands of Burma and so they live with us with a serene air about them as though they know they were specially chosen to be totally adored and held in high esteem.
