Cootamundra is typical of so much of the Riverina and South West Slopes. It has history, it has character, it has space...
Among the many crops grown in the fertile soils of Cootamundra are Canola (rape seed) that produces Canola oil.
The town has many old buildings and heritage listed sites, such as the Catholic Manse.

The railway came through in 1877, and as a result many of the streets are lined with beautiful trees such as the century old elm trees.
There are many beautiful old buildings from past industries such as the railway, Conkey's abattoir and the old flour mill to see.

An other buildings to see include the town hall, courthouse, police station and of course the post office and tower.
What visit to Cootamundra would be complete without seeing the world famous Cootamundra Wattle (Acacia baileyana), beautiful in bloom during August and September.
