St Patrick's Parish Pyramid Hill is a rural parish situated within the Catholic Diocese of Sandhurst. The parish includes St. Joseph's Church at Serpentine and St. Dominic's Church at Dingee. The Administrator is Fr. Peter Taylor parish priest of St. Patrick's Kerang.

In 1885 the Catholic Pioneers of this area chose Saint Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland, as the patron saint for their new parish. It was a logical choice. Those early pioneering Catholics were from Ireland. In coming to this land, far from their own, they brought with them the strength and conviction of their Catholic faith. This faith is evident in their ancestors of today. Those pioneers had undergone many hardships in establishing the parish. They built the first church in the Terricks in 1875, and this was built long before they had a proper roof over their own heads. They wished to give Christ and His Church priority in their lives.

They knew the life of Saint Patrick very well and chose him as their model in Christian life. Saint Patrick gave them the hope that Christ would remain beside them.
Perhaps they often recited the prayer composed by Saint Patrick, known as "St. Patrick's Breastplate":

"Christ with me,
Christ before me;
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ under me,
Christ over me;
Christ to the right of me,
Christ to the left of me;
Christ in lying down,

Christ in sitting,
Christ in rising up;
Christ in the heart of everyone that thinks of me;
Christ in the mouth of everyone that speaks to me;
Christ in every eye that sees me;
Christ in every ear that hears me"
