Australia, Don't Forget About Us

True stories by ex-Service men and women, widows, housewives and those who worked in production during the War Years

compiled by Jim Faggotter

Stories from the greatest struggle Australia has ever experienced - World War II. Some are amusing, others sad; some will bring a thoughtful moment to the mind of the reader, and all are true.

The stories we hear of WWII are those so often of outstanding incidents or people. The more obscure events and everyday realities are often not mentioned. This collection of Australian people's war experiences aims to fill that gap. The tales are told in their own voices, or by those of close friends or relatives. There are fascinating stories from servicemen and women serving overseas, and in Northern Australia, particularly the Top End of the Northern Territory. There are tales, too, of those who stayed "at home" and the changes war brought to them.
