About Us
|
An old dairy pasture, a swamp and 1.5 hetacres of weeds
and lantana have been transformed into this champion and
award winning garden, Tea House and Event Venue. Teresa
and Shane Davis started creating a swimming hole in 1998
for their three boys and just kept going with excavations,
aquatic engineering, building and planting.
|
|
 |
The whole family took on the massive project which included
clearing the weeds, draining swamps, excavating several
lagoons and creating a waterfall.
Fed by a natural spring, a 2.5m water wheel powers the
garden's water features and fountains.

|
 |
Creative building
designs include numerous garden shelters, gazebos, a Tea House,
a Conference Venue and numerous bridges including an Indiana
Jones style suspension bridge. |
|
 |
The entire hillside was reshaped and terraced.
Thousands of plants - palms, flowering trees, and shrubs
including tropical rhododendrons and massed Camellias have
been planted, mulched and beautifully maintained. Many shrubs
and vines were carefully chosen to attract Wanderer, Ulysses
and Birdwing butterflies and abundant birdlife to the garden.
