Inpatient Service Mission Statement

OUR VISION:

The Rural and Remote Mental Health In-patient Service will aim to be a leader and
innovator in its service provision and will deliver its service according to the following
    statements;

The service will be based on the principles of equity and access.

The service will aim to be of the highest quality.

Staff will strive for continuous improvement.

PURPOSE:

The Rural and Remote Mental Health In-patient Service focuses on helping people who
live in a rural or remote community, who are experiencing a mental illness, and need the
expertise provided by a specialised psychiatric In-patient service.

Our priority is to provide a cost effective quality service to our clients.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

Involving consumers, their families and carers in the planning of services will enhance
    the provision of our service.

There are people who have a disability of mental function for whom the interventions of
a Mental health multi disciplinary team will reduce impairment.

There are people who have a chronic disability of mental function whose disability can
be reduced by mobilising appropriate support services in a community setting.

OUR VALUES:

The Patient is the centre of the care process.

We value our staff and aim to develop their full potential.

We value new and innovative approaches to the way we do our work.

We operate in a professional and business like manner.

We value mutual fairness and ethical behaviour.
