As any activity shooting either target or hunting can be dangerous if the correct safety precautions are not taken into place. That is why common sense and these rules should make for some fun enjoyable and most of all safe shooting.
Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the firearm you are using.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Firearms should be unloaded when not in use.
Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before using.
Be sure of your target before you shoot.
Wear shooting glasses and ear protection when you shoot.
Never climb a tree or fence with a loaded firearm.
Don't shoot at a hard surface or at water.
Never transport a loaded firearm.
Avoid alcoholic beverages or drugs when shooting or handling a gun.
All firearms to be incased while in the lounge area of the range.
There are to be no loaded firearms left on the bench at any time.
All shooters are required to abide by the standard range rules, including having all firearms cleared before they leave the range.
All firearms that are hired out must be signed out and back in at the range counter.
The brass from reloaded ammunition, which is purchased from the range, should be returned to range counter.
Any firearm which is on lay-by or has been transferred from another shop to the range can not be used by the owner until they have received their “permit to acquire” and has paid the firearm off in full.
No targets depicting animals or humans.
No shooting at the standard range target while it is moving back and forth.
No shooter is allowed to let any person use a pistol if the do not have a “H” class licence.
Any shooter who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the range immediately.
Please clean up after a session
Unless you are shooting or helping with a competition you are not allowed in the range.
