The Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged at least one month and one day prior to the wedding day, but no more than eighteen months in advance. |

The Notice of Intended Marriage form is available from myself or any Births Deaths and Marriages office. Overseas couples can obtain a Notice of Intended Marriage form from the Australian Embassy. Alternatively, this form can be downloaded from the
BDM website (http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/) |

When the Notice of Intended Marriage is completed, your signature/s must be witnessed by any one of the authorised persons indicated on the reverse of the form. Overseas couples should have their signatures witnessed by a Notary Public or an Australian Consular Official. |

You are required
to provide original Birth Certificates, Decree Absolute (if divorced),
or Death Certificate (if your former spouse is deceased). You must provide
your previous marriage certificate in this instance. |

All formalities and the document processing procedure is doneby me in accordance with the Australian Government legal requirement. |

|
|
It is not a legal requirement to be an Australian citizen in order to marry in Australia. |
