General options

  1. Set TuX as a module, not as part of the kernel image.
  2. WOLK includes bootsplash, just like SuSE. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get this to work. WOLK configuration insists that VESA (Device Driver -- Graphics support) is compiled within the kernel image. According to bootsplash documentation, this shouldn't be necessary because aty128fb should also be able to work with bootsplash. By the way, the suggested patch to the aty128fb driver doesn't work, I think the aty128fb driver has been updated for the 2.6.x series anyway.
  3. aty128fb does not accept the `vga=0x317' boot parameter. The documentation for aty128fb can be found in `Documentation/fb/aty128fb.txt' within the kernel source tree. I set my kernel boot parameter to `video=aty128fb:1024x768'.
