The inbuilt LAN is again not auto-detected. Disappointing. Fortunately for me, the Belkin F5D-5050 USB Ethernet (16.2.1) is auto-detected. You still need to configure the network via YAST, though.
Unlike SuSE 9.1, however, you do not need to re-compile the kernel. Use the Yast Online Update (YOU) to download firmware for the inbuilt Prism2 card (I think it is described as PrismGT, or PrismPlus or something), so use Yast Online Update (YOU) to download the Prism.
To configure the network I used the following settings...
Under advanced -- hardware details : Configuration name = prism2, Module name = prism2_usb.
Operating mode = managed, ESSID = (My ESSID, but YaST does not write down ESSID properly in all situations, see below!), Authentication = open, Multiple Keys = (several WEP keys)
Quite bizarrely, it looks like the YaST's configuration menus used to set up a `new' wireless network card are not the same as the ones used to edit an already configured card. Really confusing.
Again, the YaST does not write the configuration file properly in /etc/sysconfig/rc.d/ifcg-(name) if the ESSID contains an apostrophe. I had the manually edit the configuration file by hand.
