Archer/Bogenschütze

bronze, 84 cm, 1903

Ernst Moritz Geyger 1861-1941

This well known bronze cast, made by Akt. Ges. vorm H. Gladenbek u. Sohn, Berlin-Friedrichshagen in 1903, is based on a first version in driven coper (4 m high) in 1895, placed in 1902 at the Sizilian Garden at Sanssouci, the Prussian King's palace at Potsdam.

The Gladenbek copies were made in three sizes, this 84 cm cast is likely the largest size. Bow and arrow are missing in the illustrated cast. Found today in a number of museums.
