This phylum contains the flatworms, which are dorsoventrally flattened, and have one opening, that being the mouth. Turbellarians are found in marine, fresh water and terrestrial environments. The group also contains flukes and tapeworms, which are parasitic. About 18,500 spacies. (Dorit et al, 1991)
