Laska is a delight to own being a healthy, happy girl of good nature, and achieving moderate success in both the show ring and working activities.

She is a very enthusiastic and tireless worker and thoroughly enjoys her backpacking and sledding work.  Laska has helped drag her unfit handler back to base on many a bush walk, despite the fact that she has been loaded up to carry 30% of her body weight (and the handler carried nothing but a lead).

In recognition of her achievements in backpacking she received her Working Pack Dog title from the Alaskan Malamute Club, Victoria Inc., in April 2000.

Laska is an enthusiastic member of the Windchill 3-dog sledding team, working either in wheel position or in joint lead with her brother, Dugan.  This team was ranked the Top Australian Alaskan Malamute Team in that class for 1998 and 1999, and has won many awards and State titles over the three seasons they have been sled dog racing.

Her efforts in harness gained Laska her the Working Team Dog (AMCV) and Working Sprint Dog (SHAMC) titles in 1998 after her first season of sledding. The big grin on her face as she works says it all!

Her easy-going nature and good temperament with people and most other dogs make her an ideal "demo dog" for our breed displays at pet expo's and other educational events.

Laska loved her showing and is a multi In Group and an In Show winner. She was awarded her Australian Champion title in October 1999 and is now retired from the showring.
