of one of those!"
Neither had I until a couple of years ago. Saw an article in Restored Cars
Magazine (Australia) where this guy was talking to an owner of one at an airport in South
Africa.
So Just What Is It? Take one British 2 door Vauxhall Firenza and throw
away the 4 banger and insert in its place a Comaro 302 v8 & gearbox. This was done by
the GMSA factory to the order of 100 only.
Having been a fan of the Holden LC Torana XU1v8 (and having owned
one for many years) but been put off by the continual "They were never real"
misinformed comments, this car really struck my fancy.
So I set out about finding as much info as I could.
Let me tell you, info on these cars is hard to find, just like the Perana Capri!
(Another story all together).
So, having been contacted by someone in SA after putting up a posting on a
forum (about a year or so later I might add) I was lucky enough to make the acquaintance
of one of the most informed people on the subject.
We talked for a while, then, a CanAm came up for sale - soon I hope for it to be in my
stable, alongside my other toys; see the menu on the side.
