So
what's that? Well, it is Mini Cooper S powered. It uses the front
subframe of the mini attached to a fabricated single seat body. The
gear box has only forward and reverse gears selected in a straight up or
down action so as to make gear changes as quick as possible.
There is also independent braking from front to rear, so you have
four foot pedals to contend with instead of just three (or two for you
fans of automatics).
Why? Its a test of skill. Witches hats or poles or flags are placed
in a predetermined pattern and you race against the clock to complete
the pattern as quick as possible.
The
competition is open to regular vehicles as well. Everyone is split up
into classes based on wheelbase, with special categories for front wheel
drive and rear wheel drive specials.
I'll post some maps of the courses later so you get a better idea.
Oh,
by the way, that's not me driving in the first photo, its my friend
John.
Each vehicle entered into competition can be shared by up to four
drivers.
This machine is owned jointly between myself, John and Igor (who is
the hapless individual that has no regard for his life as he sits as a
navigator with me in a 200+KPH rocket ship XU1v8)
